First Filipino Netflix film ‘Dead Kids’ set to release on December

AS MORE Filipino films get added to the thousands of movies accessible through Netflix, it’s high time a Pinoy Netflix Original movie is added to the mix.

After an announcement from Netflix and Globe on Oct. 18, we found out that this is finally happening: “Dead Kids” is officially the first Filipino Netflix original film set to be released before the year ends. The movie is directed by independent filmmaker Mikhail Red and produced by Globe Studios.

Award-winning director Mikhail Red is known for his thriller and horror films such as “Neomanila,” “Eerie, and “Block Z.” He also directed the first-ever Filipino film to be streamed on Netflix, “Birdshot”.

On his Instagram post, he said, “It has always been my dream as a filmmaker to reach a global audience!”

One of the movie’s actors, Khalil Ramos, also shared his excitement about “Dead Kids” on Netflix through a Twitter and Instagram post.

Khalil captioned his posts with: “The news is finally out. This is unreal. I’m part of the very first Filipino Netflix film. Wild!!!”

Other celebrities to watch out for in this thriller film are Sue Ramirez,Gabby Padilla, Kelvin Miranda, Markus Paterson, Vance Larena, andJan Silverio.

While waiting for the movie’s release, you can enjoy other Filipino films available on Netflix such as Mikhail Red’s “Eerie” and Sue Ramirez’ “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi.” (Cosmo)
