ILOILO – A fishpond caretaker in Sitio Bulod 2, Barangay Pulao, Dumangas town was discovered lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds on his body.
The 32-year-old Jomarie Torres, a resident of Barangay Cabilauan, Barotac Nuevo town, was last seen drinking at the residence of the fishpond owner, located approximately 300 meters from his hut.
According to Police Master Sergeant Jhon Mark Tuazon, investigator of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, residents reported hearing gunshots around 11 p.m. on February 9. However, it was not until afternoon of February 10 that Torres’ body was found by a relative of the fishpond owner who had come to visit.
Tuazon said the victim sustained eight gunshot wounds, possibly inflicted by a 12-gauge shotgun.
Dumangas police were still investigating the incident as of this writing.
