ILOILO City – It’s already December but food prices are still stable, at least according to most vendors.
Although Christmas is right around the corner, prices for most types of food have not gone up, though most stocks are beginning to dwindle as the holidays fast approaches.
Charlie Chan, president of the Vendors of the La Paz Public Market share that “sa subong wala pa. Wala pa nagtaas ang manok kag baboy.”
“Pero actually given ang stocks subong ga-gamay gamay. So ang presyo ga-plus one, plus two, plus three. Three days na karon ni ang manok ma-iwat,” he added.
Chan anticipates average increases in food prices this Christmas will be nothing out of the ordinary.
The only exception, according to Chan are fish prices, which have been steadily increasing since before December./PN
