Four major businesses in Pavia switch to MORE Power for cheaper, quality electricity; More consumers in Iloilo’s 2nd District set to transfer soon

JUST WEEKS after migrating to MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) as their new electricity distributor, four major establishments in the 2nd Congressional District of Iloilo — particularly in the Municipality of Pavia — are now enjoying cheaper and high-quality power supply.

Among the first to transfer their power lines to MORE Power were International Builders Corporation (IBC) in Barangay Ungka I on January 18; Iloilo Supermart in Barangay Jibao-an on January 23; and Marlu’s Restaurant in Barangay Ungka II and Panay News in Barangay Mali-ao, both of which completed their migration on February 18.

MORE Electric and Power Corporation completed International Builders Corporation’s power supply migration on January 18, 2026. The ceremony was attended by MORE power president and chief executive officer Roel Z. Castro and IBC owner Alfonso Tan.
Iloilo Supermart at Jibao-an, Pavia, Iloilo transferred its electric power line to MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power). The migration ceremony on January 23, 2026 was led by Iloilo Supermart Corporate Treasurer John Alexander C. Que, together with MORE Power Vice President for Customer Care and Marketing Ma. Cristina Cabalhin and Assistant Vice President for Network Development and Operations Engr. Christopher Serojano.

According to MORE Power president and chief executive officer Roel Z. Castro, the transfer of these four establishments marks the beginning of proving that another distribution utility can effectively serve municipalities for the benefit of consumers.

“This ceremony is just the beginning. We are very excited to cater to more consumers in Pavia, Iloilo, proving that nothing is impossible with us. Serving the consumers will be our topmost priority here at MORE Power,” Castro said.

He added that the migration demonstrates how consumers have long anticipated MORE Power’s services.

Panay News affirms improved service

One of those testifying to the improved service is Panay News itself.

Even after just over a week since transferring, the management of the region’s leading newspaper has already felt the positive impact of MORE Power’s reliable service.

Panay News marketing manager Leah Fajardo expressed gratitude for the successful migration.

“We are very glad to officially be part of MORE Power, especially with its expansion here in the Municipality of Pavia. When it was reported that Pavia was included in MORE Power’s expansion, we patiently waited for it. To all consumers who wish to avail themselves of the services provided by MORE Power, do not hesitate because its service is already tested and proven. It feels good that we ourselves are now able to experience it,” Fajardo said.

More customers from Iloilo Province to migrate soon

Amid increasing demand from investors in Iloilo City and Iloilo Province for a robust and modern distribution utility, Castro said the company is pleased to serve more customers.

He revealed that more than 10 additional establishments in the 2nd District are scheduled to migrate within the first quarter of the year.

“We are committed to diligently serving consumers in our extended franchise area and will onboard more than 10 additional customers this first quarter. Everything is possible when our mission drives us to deliver outstanding service and customer care. We look forward to building more partnerships and collaborations with Iloilo Supermart,” Castro said.

In 2026, MORE Power shows no signs of slowing down, doubling down instead on its promise to deliver steady, top-notch electricity — not only in Iloilo City but also in surrounding municipalities within its expanded franchise.

Castro explained that the company aims to continuously improve customer experience by expanding to more towns while rolling out smarter technologies to ensure smoother operations.

He emphasized that consumers should truly feel the value of what they pay for through tangible service improvements and the adoption of modern systems.

The company’s direction, he clarified, goes beyond its original five-year development plan. MORE Power is now preparing additional programs that will directly benefit consumers once substations and primary distribution lines are fully upgraded.

Currently, MORE Power operates eight substations with a total capacity of 252.2 MVA. One additional substation is targeted for completion in 2026.

Among the major initiatives lined up for 2026 is the expanded use of artificial intelligence (AI) to collect analytics and data through centralized servers, enabling faster and more efficient responses to consumer concerns.

The company is also studying the implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), which will allow consumers to easily track their energy usage. Once implemented, reconnections can be done remotely through the SCADA system, eliminating long waiting times.

In addition, MORE Power plans to further diversify its energy mix and increase the use of renewable sources to help keep electricity prices reasonable.

“If you remember, the expansion to the 2nd and 4th districts was driven by the consumers themselves. The reason for migration is really the kind of service we provide — very transparent, very open, and always present for our customers. We work to solve problems as fast and as reliably as possible,” Castro added.

The expansion of MORE Power was prompted by clamor from constituents in the 2nd and 4th districts of Iloilo, leading Cong. Michael Gorriceta and Cong. Braeden John Biron to file the expanded franchise bill in Congress on September 22, 2021.

The successful transitions underscore MORE Power’s capability to deliver quality service and superior facilities in Iloilo, making it the preferred choice for businesses that rely on dependable electricity for daily operations./PN
