Through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, the company continues to invest in initiatives that protect the environment, support local livelihoods, and promote public health—underscoring its commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.
Greening Iloilo: 10,000 trees in six years
At the core of MORE Power’s environmental campaign is its pledge to plant 10,000 trees over six years, contributing to the restoration and preservation of Iloilo City’s green spaces.
On September 19, 2023, 75 volunteers — including MORE Power employees and members of the company’s Guardians of the Environment — planted 200 mangrove trees along the coastline of Hinactacan, La Paz, Iloilo City. The activity also included a coastal cleanup drive that collected 50 sacks of trash.
In 2025, 90 MORE Power employees and volunteers conducted the first-ever mangrove planting activity at Deck 3 of Sunset Boulevard in Iloilo City, planting 1,000 saplings in a single day.
Since launching its environmental campaign, the company has planted nearly 3,000 mangroves and more than 7,000 trees across Iloilo City. The initiative remains ongoing as part of its long-term sustainability commitment.
Combating malnutrition in Iloilo
In a concerted effort to address child malnutrition in the province, the Provincial Government of Iloilo, with the support of MORE Electric and Power Corporation, Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation Inc. (NVC), and with former Senate President Franklin Drilon, launched the Mingo Nutrition Program.
The program reflects a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of Ilonggo children, particularly those vulnerable to malnutrition. It stands as a strong example of how collaboration between the public and private sectors can deliver meaningful, community-based solutions to pressing social challenges.
Supporting farmers, promoting organic practices
MORE Power’s CSR efforts also extend to strengthening local agriculture.
The company donated seeds to the Federation of Farmers in Iloilo City to encourage a shift toward organic farming. The initiative aims to help farmers reduce production costs, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and increase access to affordable and healthy produce for Ilonggo families.
Complementing this effort is the company’s Farmers’ Market program, which provides a platform for local growers to sell their produce directly to consumers. The initiative not only supports farmers’ livelihoods but also fosters appreciation for locally grown products.
Restoring the Iloilo River
As part of its environmental stewardship, MORE Power has also undertaken fish fingerling releases in the Iloilo River to help restore ecological balance and enhance aquatic biodiversity.
The program seeks to improve fish variety and contribute to a sustainable aquatic food supply for local communities while supporting broader river rehabilitation efforts.
Pag-Umwad 2.0 partnership
With the support of MORE Power for green innovation, the corporation has partnered with the Iloilo Provincial Government.
Pag-Umwad 2.0 is an enriching planting activity focused on reforesting the banks of the Tigum River within the Maasin Watershed. This effort aims to restore and enhance the ecological balance of the area while promoting biodiversity. PAG-UMWAD 2.0, which stands for “Pag-Uswag sang Maasin Watershed, Agrikultura, Dunang Manggad,” complements Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.’s revitalized Tanum Iloilo Program, which aims to transform Iloilo into a Forest Province.
MORE Power not only contributes to the ecological restoration of the watershed but also support the local community’s economic development.
Saving lives through blood donation
In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, MORE Power regularly conducts blood donation drives to help maintain a stable blood supply for medical emergencies and patients in need.
These life-saving initiatives reinforce the company’s commitment not only to environmental sustainability but also to public health and humanitarian service.
