ROXAS City – The local government here cited frontliners ensuring the safety of residents wary of Typhoon “Auring” over the weekend.
“Auring” eventually weakened into just a low pressure area.
Late in the morning yesterday, Signal No. 1 in Roxas City and the whole province of Capiz was lifted. There was no flooding, injuries or deaths reported.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas lauded specifically the personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), City Health Office (CHO), City Engineer’s Office (CEO), and other government frontliners for staying alert.
He also cited barangay officials and village frontliners “sa inyo aktibo nga paghulag agud masiguro nga preparado kita sa pagresponde sa kinahanglanon sang aton kasimanwa.”
The mayor also thanked the residents for heeding the local government’s call for preemptive evacuation.
A total of 47 families composed of 154 individuals from two barangays moved to evacuation centers over the weekend.
“Pamatuod ini nga kon kita nagaululupod kag alerto, ano man nga pagtilaw sarang naton atubangon kag malampuwasan,” said Dadivas.
He added: “Ang City Health Office – Health and Emergency Team nagpatigayon sang assessment, monitoring kag health consultation sa mga evacuees agud masiguro ang ila ikaayong lawas samtang nagapabilin sa evacuation centers.”
The CSWDO, on the other hand, distributed relief assistance.
“Ang CDRRMO sige man sa pag-alalay kag pagpatigayon sang assessment kag monitoring sa dalagan sang panahon agud masiguro luwas nga makapauli sa ila panimalay ang aton mga kasimanwa,” Dadivas added./PN
