BACOLOD City – A fugitive was killed in a shootout on Monday in Sitio Kawayan, Barangay Hacienda Fe in Escalante City.

Jimboy Tillo Bucaling, a resident of the place, has a pending arrest warrant for murder.

Police said they were about to serve the warrant issued by Judge Katherine Go of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-59 in San Carlos City when the suspect escaped.

Armed with an unknown firearm, Bucaling attempted to shoot the police officers, prompting the latter to fire back.

He sustained a gunshot wound on his buttock, police said.

Police rushed him to Dr. Vicente Gustilo Memorial District Hospital in the city but he was declared dead on arrival./PN
