ILOILO City – All roll on, roll off (ro-ro) vessels and fast crafts from this city bound for Bacolod City and vice versa resumed normal operations yesterday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) lifted its gale warning around 5 a.m., three days after issuing it, according to Lieutenant Ramil Palabrica, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Iloilo commander.
Motorboats plying the Iloilo City – Guimaras route and vice versa also resumed accommodating the maximum number of passengers they could take.
These past three days since Thursday last week, the coastguard only allowed the motorboats to take in passengers 75 percent only of their total passenger capacity.
On Oct. 19, several sea trips from Iloilo City to Bacolod City and vice versa were cancelled due to the gale warning over the southern coasts of Iloilo and Negros Occidental.
Fast-crafts below 200 gross tonnage were not allowed to set out to sea./PN
