FABSON Solane handed Toto Tia Ten Trucking its first defeat in the 1st Ganzon Cup Big Shots Sports Basketball League with an 85-70 win on Sunday night at the Barangay Katilingban gym in Molo, Iloilo City.
Holding to a slim 68-66 advantage midway in the final quarter, Fabson Solane turned to Matthew Jan Montalvo and Bongbong Talimay for a 17-4 finishing run to keep its unbeaten record.
- Cordon Construction, meanwhile, halted its two-game losing skid with an 85-79 win over ILOPRISAA-University of San Agustin. Mike Balbarada top-scored with 24 points for J. Cordon.
In the third game, JAV Calibration tallied its second consecutive victory with a 79-74 escape over the struggling Starr VA Sports/Asialink. Biboy Lucero finished with 12 points to lead JAV.
Fabson Solane remained on top with a 4-0 win-loss slate. It was followed by Toto Tia Ten Trucking (3-1), JAV Calibration (3-2), J. Cordon (2-3), ILOPRISAA-USA (1-3), and Starr VA Sports/Asialink (0-4).
Action resumes today, with Fabson Solane aiming to complete an elimination round sweep over Starr VA Sports/Asialink at 5:30 p.m. and Toto Tia Ten Trucking battling ILOPRISAA-USA at 7 p.m./PN
