BACOLOD City – Rep. Greg Gasataya is amenable to the extension of the martial law in Mindanao.
“Considering that there [were] no reports of abuses from the military, I’m in favor of the martial law in Mindanao,” Gasataya said.
On July 22, Gasataya will attend a joint session by the House of Representatives and the Senate called by President Rodrigo Duterte to discuss the possible extension of martial law in Mindanao.
The Department of National Defense will give a presentation before the lawmakers.
Duterte declared martial law in Mindanao via Proclamation No. 216 on May 23 after the Maute terrorist group attacked Marawi City.
The 60-day duration allowed by the Constitution will expire next week./PN
