MANILA — Filipinos, including retail investors in Western Visayas, can now participate more conveniently in Arthaland Corp.’s follow-on offering of preferred shares through GStocks PH, the investment platform available on the GCash app.
Arthaland’s Series G (ALCPG) and Series H (ALCPH) preferred shares are being offered at P500 per share during the September 14 to 25 offer period.
The Series G shares carry a dividend rate of 7.3260% per annum, while Series H shares carry a dividend rate of 7.8105% per annum, subject to the terms and conditions of the offering.
The offering is being made available through GStocks PH, which is offered by AB Capital Securities Inc. and allows fully verified GCash users to subscribe digitally without having to maintain a separate bank account.
For many retail investors, the digital process provides an alternative to the traditional setup of opening a brokerage account, maintaining a separate bank account, and coordinating with a broker in person when participating in share offerings.
Preferred shares generally provide holders with priority over common shareholders in receiving dividends and typically pay fixed dividends, although returns remain subject to the terms of the issue and applicable investment risks.
GStocks PH also features a subscription meter and real-time allocation information for the broker’s available tranche, allowing investors to see the availability of shares and confirm their allocation at the time of subscription.
If the broker’s initial tranche is fully taken up and the offering becomes oversubscribed through GStocks PH, investors may still place orders, with allocation results to be released after the offer period.
“Financial inclusion is not only about more financial services. It is about creating a simpler, more rewarding experience that keeps Filipinos’ needs in mind,” said Winsley Bangit, Group Head of New Businesses at Mynt.
Bangit said digitizing financial services can make investing more convenient and help Filipinos take greater control of their financial journeys.
To access GStocks PH, fully verified GCash users may open the GCash app, select Invest, and choose GStocks PH. New users can undergo digital onboarding, while funds may be transferred to and from the GCash wallet without a bank account.
The platform’s digital subscription facility is intended to broaden retail participation in capital-market offerings by making share subscriptions more accessible through a mobile application.
Investors, however, are advised to review the offering terms, potential risks and their own financial capacity before investing./PN
