BACOLOD City – A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped.
Police arrested a suspect – fried chicken vendor Randy Visañes, 32, of Ormoc City, Leyte but temporarily residing in Barangay 40 here.
The victim, alias “Lyn,” was a Grade 7 student and resident of Barangay 40.
The alleged rape took place on Saturday, April 15, police said.
According to the victim’s mother in an interview with Radyo Bandera Bacolod, because she had to work she left “Lyn” in their rented home.
The victim later told her mother that Visañes forcibly entered their home and threatened her with a knife.
A medical exam on the victim showed “edema of the hymen” or swelling of the girl’s private parts.
Visañes fled to Kabankalan City but was immediately arrested upon returning to Bacolod City on Monday, April 17.
The suspect is currently being held at the Police Station 6./PN
