ILOILO City – A container van allegedly used as a drug den was dismantled in Barangay Buhang, Jaro district.
Suspects John Joseph Antiqueña, 35, of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district; Wilson Tuvilla Jr., 44; Zherden Dela Cruz, 44; Vladimir Jan Tuvilla, 30; and Arman Obeso, 36 – all residents of Barangay Balabag, Anilao, Iloilo – were arrested.
Meanwhile, suspect Jojo Billones, of legal age, from Barangay Nabitasan, Leganes, Iloilo, managed to flee, police said.
The Jaro police conducted the operation at around 11:50 p.m. on Monday, April 17.
A total of seven sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated weight of four grams and a standard drug price of P27,200, was recovered.
“Madugay na ini sila gina-monitor, mga masulod siguro sa two or three weeks kag sanday Billones kag Antiqueña ma-consider nga high-value suspects,” said Police Captain Lester Oliveros, chief of the Jaro police.
Antiqueña is suspected to be a runner who got supplies from Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.
The five suspects face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. They were in the custody of the Jaro police, while Billones is being pursued./PN
