MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has been urged to make public his medical records to show that he is mentally and physically fit, and to allay the fears of the public.
“I think that so that people would actually not be doubting or not be suspecting that something is going on, the easiest thing to do is just to disclose your medical records. That would be the best thing to do,” Sen. Grace Poe said in an interview with ANC’s Headstart.
She asserted presidents “need to be able to show that they’re mentally and physically fit.”
She said, the President need not go into details of his condition, but anything that will allay the public’s fear would be enough.
“Just maybe a certification from a respectable doctor that says that the President is fit and healthy and he has no debilitating illnesses that will hamper him from doing, that will stop him from doing his job properly,” she said.
“The health of the President is a cause for concern for all of us,” Poe added.
She noted however that Duterte, who claims to be suffering from Buerger’s disease and periodically from migraine and back pains, seems fine and actively attends events. (ABS-CBN News)
