BACOLOD City – Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon said she and other commissioners wanted Comelec chairman Andres Bautista to resign.

Ballot printing had stopped after Bautista failed to sign a memorandum of agreement with the National Printing Office, Guanzon said.

The ballots were for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in October.

Guanzon and other commissioners called out Bautista for this.

Bautista faces an impeachment complaint before the House of Representatives for his alleged ill-gotten wealth.

“Bautista does not observe office hours regularly, supposedly from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Documents [pending action] since 2016 are still in his office,” said Guanzon./PN
