ILOILO City – The schedule of boat trips from this city to Guimaras and vice versa are extended on Good Friday, April 7, for people who want to witness the “Ang Pagtaltal sa Bala-an Bukid””in Barangay Balcon Melliza, Jordan, Guimaras.
Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) 6 regional director Jeffrey Bangsa issued an order on March 28 to the following: Jordan Motorbanca Coop, Buenavista and Jordan Ferry, Inc., Navimar Shipping Services, and Atlantis Yohan Express Corp., informing them the request for trip extension of Jordan mayor Cresente Chavez Jr.
“This is in relation to the request of the municipality of Jordan, as well as the provincial government of Guimaras, for the extension of the day time and night time trips of operators plying the route – Jordan wharf in Guimaras to Parola wharf in Iloilo City and vice versa – to cater to an influx of tourists and guests of the “Ang Pagtaltal sa Bala-an Bukid” event on April 7, 2023 to be held at Jordan, Guimaras,” read part of the order.
It further stated:
* The above-mentioned operators may start their operations from 4 a.m. and extend their trips until 11 p.m.
* Their operations will be in accordance with the MARINA Region 6 Omnibus Order issued on Feb. 28, 2023 prescribing that above-mentioned operators shall be operating on a relaxed schedule of trips.
* The operators will ensure that the vessels, at all times, are fully equipped with distress signal/equipment.
* The operators will, at all times, comply with the limitations and conditions under their safety certificates.
The current first trip of vessels from Jordan wharf to Parola wharf is at 5:20 a.m. and the last trip is at 9 p.m.
From Parola wharf to Jordan wharf, the first trip is scheduled at 5:35 a.m. and the last trip at 9:15 p.m./PN
