GUIMARAS Electric Cooperative (GUIMELCO) successfully implemented its Pailaw sa Kubos Program on June 17 to 19, 2026, providing electrical housewiring and service drop installation assistance to 10 marginalized households across the Province of Guimaras.
Prior to the implementation, GUIMELCO conducted evaluation and site inspections from June 8 to 10 to assess the eligibility and electrical requirements of applicants. An Orientation and Pre-Membership Education Seminar (PMES) was also held on June 16 at the MCO Hall of the GUIMELCO Main Office in Barangay San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
The Pailaw sa Kubos Program aims to assist marginalized households without existing electrical connections and provide them access to safe an d reliable electricity. A total of 89 applications were received from across the province, with 31 applicants from Jordan, 21 from Buenavista, 17 from Nueva Valencia, 13 from San Lorenzo, and seven from Sibunag.
Each beneficiary received electrical materials necessary for housewiring and energization, including duplex wire, PDX wire, two LED bulbs, a safety breaker, a junction box, a receptacle, a convenience outlet, a one-gang switch, and other installation materials. The installations were carried out by GUIMELCO’s technical personnel to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
Two beneficiaries were selected from each municipality based on the program’s evaluation criteria.
