BACOLOD City –A suspected gun runner was caught in an entrapment operation that the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) staged in Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
CIDG-Bacolod identified him as Renon Taclobos, 31, of Purok Libas in Barangay Delicioso, Ilog, Negros Occidental.
The suspect was part of a gunrunning gang “Tonggo Group,” according to Police Chief Master Sergeant Ramiro Gocotano of CIDG-Bacolod.
Operatives led by Gocotano conducted the entrapment at around 2:40 p.m. on Oct. 27.
Taclobos sold to them an unlicensed submachine gun pistol with Serial Number JC 071458. Four live bullets of a 9mm pistol and marked money were also seized from him.
Facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, Taclobos was now in the CIDG-Bacolod’s custody./PN
