DUMARAO, Capiz – A 34-year-old man was shot at the night vigil for a dead cousin in Barangay Tina here.
Noel Sarceno died while being rushed to the Sara District Hospital in nearby Sara, Iloilo.
According to witnesses, Sarceno came to the vigil drunk and brandishing a gun.
A commotion ensued and a burst of gunfire was heard. Sarceno was shot, it turned out.
Responding policemen recovered from the wake a 12-gauge shotgun and five spent bullet shells.
