ILOILO City – An illegal possession of firearm charge may be filed against a 45-year-old resident of Barangay Sapao, Dumangas, Iloilo.
Jofre Debil was caught in possession of a loaded .45-caliber pistol and a 10-inch knife at a police checkpoint in the village.
Debil was taken to the Dumangas police station after his arrest around 12:45 a.m. yesterday.
Senior Police Officer 3 Lucas Delio, one of those manning the checkpoint, flagged down the tricycle Debil was riding.
The driver was identified as Ervin Delfinado.
Delio recovered the firearm and the knife from Debil.
The latter tried to seize it back, but the officer handcuffed him, a police report showed./PN
