SAN JOSE, Antique – Charged with online libel, a radio commentator was arrested in Barangay Caridad, Hamtic, Antique.
The 38-year-old resident Jon Sherwin Pacete was caught around 6:30 p.m. on Friday on the strength of an arrest warrant that Judge Arthur Malabaguio of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 93 in Quezon City issued on July 20.
Joint elements of the Hamtic municipal police station led by Senior Inspector Janvier Gilza and the Regional Anti-Criminality Action Team led by Senior Superintendent Romeo Baleros staged Pacete’s arrest.
The warrant of arrest was issued in relation to Criminal Case No. QZN-18-06722-CR that Pacete faces before the Quezon City RTC.
Pacete was detained at the Hamtic police station lockup facility.
A bail bind worth P16,000 was recommended for his temporary liberty/PN
