ILOILO City – A 36-year-old man tagged as a high-value suspect was arrested and over P400,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Laguda, La Paz district.
Known by his aliases “Toto” and “Bert”, the suspect was collared by the elements of the Iloilo City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, Iloilo City Police Station 2 (ICPS2), and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, at around 10:23 p.m. on November 10.
Recovered from the operation were seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 60 grams, buy-bust money, one motorcycle, and non-drug-related items.
The suspect is presently under the custody of ICPS2, facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. These offenses carry a penalty of life imprisonment to death and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10 million./PN
