ILOILO City – After hiding from the authorities for three years, the No. 8 most wanted person in Iloilo province was arrested on Wednesday, November 12.
The 34-year-old alias “Flor,” a resident of Barangay Napnapan, Tigbauan, Iloilo, was charged with 17 counts of qualified theft.
Intelligence operatives of the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), along with officers from the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) Police Station 2 (PS2) and City Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 (RIU 6), Tigbauan Municipal Police Station, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit, apprehended the suspect in Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz district.
The arrest was executed at around 10:30 a.m. through the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marie Yvette Dedel Go of the Regional Trial Court – Branch 37, 6th Judicial Region in Iloilo City. A P680,000 bail bond was recommended for the suspect’s temporary freedom.
ICPO director Colonel Kim Legada commended the operating units for their dedication and teamwork in tracking down the suspect and delivering justice to the victims.
“There is no safe place for fugitives. The ICPO will relentlessly pursue all those who evade the law until they are held accountable. This arrest underscores our firm commitment to a safer and just community,” Legada said.
The city’s top cop further said that the ICPO will continue to strengthen its intelligence-driven operations and coordination with other law enforcement units to ensure that wanted persons are brought to justice./PN
