High-value drug suspect nabbed; P442K worth of shabu seized in Sara

ILOILO — A 21-year-old man identified as a high-value drug suspect was arrested and approximately P442,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Carmen, Barangay Zerrudo, Sara, Iloilo.

The suspect, known only by the alias “Julius,” is a resident of the barangay, according to police.

Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Sara Municipal Police Station carried out the operation following a tip from a concerned citizen and after conducting a month-long intelligence monitoring effort.

Authorities recovered around 65 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P442,000. Also seized were three plastic sachets containing the suspected illegal substance, marked buy-bust money, and other non-drug evidence.

The suspect was immediately taken into police custody for proper documentation and filing of charges.

Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño, acting regional director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), commended the operating personnel for the successful anti-drug operation and reiterated the police force’s commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs.

“This accomplishment reflects the sustained commitment of our personnel on the ground to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in our communities. We will continue to pursue both high-value and street-level drug personalities through intelligence-driven and lawful police operations,” Tuaño said.

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement authorities by reporting illegal drug activities in their communities.

The suspect is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
