ILOILO – Anti-narcotics operatives arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized over P 1.1 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tabugon, Dingle town over the weekend.

The operation, conducted by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) led by Police Major Dadje B. Delima at around 5:45 p.m. on April 10, resulted in the confiscation of approximately 165 grams of suspected illegal drugs with an estimated standard drug price of P1,122,000.

Authorities identified the suspect by the alias “Rom,” 45, a resident of the said barangay.

According to the PDEU, the operation was the result of a three-month validation period following tips from concerned citizens. Investigations revealed that Rom allegedly operated in Dingle and neighboring towns, sourcing his supply from Iloilo City.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the Dingle Municipal Police Station. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
