ILOILO – The provincial government honored a traffic aide of the Iloilo City government for returning the lost check of a provincial government employee.
Jonji Belarma, 36, of Barangay Tap-oc, Molo, Iloilo City received a certificate of commendation from Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. yesterday.
This was on top of the cash reward that Belarma received from the provincial government’s Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO).
Belarma found the check while manning the flow of vehicles on Muelle Loney Street at the back of the provincial capitol on Jan. 21.
The check indicated it belonged to capitol employee Michael Raymond Dela Cruz and issued by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office. It had the signature of Atty. Suzette Mamon, provincial administrator.
Belarma, who started working as city traffic aide just five months ago, decided to turn it over to the capitol’s HRMDO./PN
