HONG KONG – This Chinese-ruled city started cleaning up and train services were resumed after a weekend of sometimes violent protests that left some pro-democracy activists vandalize a railway station and a shopping mall.

Police fired tear gas to disperse protesters on Sunday in the latest clashes in more than three months of unrest in the city’s worst political crisis in decades.

The biggest of several clashes took place in or near Mass Transit Railway stations.
