Hotel101 expands to Thailand with 770-room hotel in Bangkok

HOTEL101 Global Holdings Corp., the hospitality subsidiary of Philippine-listed DoubleDragon Corporation, announced Wednesday, July 1, the signing of definitive binding agreements for a joint venture to develop an approximately 770-room hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The project, named Hotel101-Bangkok, will be located on an 8,336-square-meter site along Phahon Yothin Road. The property sits adjacent to the Yaek Kor Por Aor BTS Station and near Don Mueang International Airport, linking it to Bangkok’s northern transport corridor and local commercial hubs. The area has emerged as one of Bangkok’s key growth districts, known for its modern infrastructure, excellent transport links, and strong mix of commercial, residential, and tourism developments.

Hotel101-Bangkok is projected to generate approximately 1.925 billion Baht ($58 million) in sales revenue upon full completion, which is scheduled for 2029, forming part of Hotel101 Global’s global expansion strategy. It is likewise expected to offer 4-star amenities at affordable prices, including ample meeting spaces and a conference center tailored for business events.

According to the company, the 4-star property will feature Hotel101’s standardized condotel format, utilizing a single room model. Amenities will include meeting and conference spaces, 24/7 reception, all-day dining, a swimming pool, a children’s pool, a full-size gym, a business center, children’s pool, parking facilities, and luggage storage, among others.

The Bangkok venture is part of Hotel101 Global’s long-term expansion strategy, which aims to reach 1 million uniform rooms across 100 countries through a licensed, asset-light business model.

The announcement follows the company’s recent international expansions. In March this year, the company opened the 680-room Hotel101-Madrid in Spain, marking its first operational location outside the Philippines. Hotel101 is also scheduled to open the 482-room Hotel101-Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan in December 2026.

For the full year 2026, DoubleDragon and Hotel101 expect to add a total of 2,229 operational rooms to their portfolio, including the Madrid and Niseko properties, alongside 519 rooms in Davao and 548 rooms in Cebu, Philippines.

Hotel101 Global went public on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange in 2025, becoming the first Filipino company to list a subsidiary on the exchange./PN
