BACOLOD City – Councilor Sonya Verdeflor requested the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) and the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) to regularly submit to the Sangguniang Panlungsod a monthly report on the BTAO’s collections.
City Ordinance (CO) No. 09-16-790 mandates the CTO and the BTAO to do this, Verdeflor said.
After passing one monthly report this year, the CTO and the BTAO stopped submitting the requirement, Verdeflor said.
The monthly report will help the city councilors monitor the implementation of CO No. 09-16-790, which authorizes BTAO enforcers to confiscate the driver’s licenses of erring motorists, she said.
In April, Councilor Dindo Ramos, chairman of the committee on transportation, reported that the city government has earned around P1.5 million in fines after the BTAO carried out CO No. 09-16-790./PN
