ILOILO City – Amid the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) which placed the town of Igbaras in Iloilo province under enhanced community quarantine, its local government unit (LGU) has implemented an initiative to make the lives of its residents convenient.
Dubbed as the “Telekonsulta,” the project seeks to provide medical and health services to the Igbarasnons without having them leave their homes starting yesterday.
Mayor Jaime Esmeralda has issued the guidelines on how the residents of the municipality could avail the said services. Residents would only need to contact the following numbers:

It is recommended that the village health workers or officials would act as the clients while making the phone calls.
Upon making the call, the residents would need to provide their current health conditions and other details such as body temperature, body weight and blood pressure, among others.
After the assessment from the doctors, the residents would be prescribed with appropriate medications. If the said medicines are available in the rural health unit of the town, those will be delivered immediately to the client’s residence by the LGU staff.
Three days after the consultation, the clients will then receive “follow up checkups” through phone calls also.
The municipality is assuring its residents that they are exerting every possible way to avert the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.(With a report from PIA/PN)
