ILOILO City – Three men were arrested for alleged illegal fishing off the coast of Barangay Pawa, Panay, Capiz.

Boat captain Robert Bones and crewmen Glen Candelario and Lito Belowa – all from Barangay Bato, Panay – were detained at the municipal police station.

The men failed to show a mayor’s permit allowing them to fish at the municipal waters, a police report showed.

Their fishing equipment and boat FB Patricia 4, owned by Fretchie Superficial, were confiscated.

Police Officer 3 Elmer Almieda and Alexander Bigcas of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office effected the arrest on Monday./PN
