ILOILO City ā€“ Charged with illegal gambling, a man was arrested in Barangay Lo-ong, Concepcion, Iloilo.

Officers served Felipe Banaria with a warrant of arrest at around 10:40 a.m. yesterday, a police report showed.

Banaria was accused of violating Republic Act 9287, the law that increased penalties for illegal gambling.

It was not specified in the police report how exactly Banaria was engaged in illegal gambling.

Judge Rogelio Amador issued the arrest warrant on Aug. 11 last year yet.

Effecting Banariaā€™s arrest were officers from the Concepcion police station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office.

The Concepcion police took him in custody./PN
