ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized more than P4.2 million worth of shabu and arrested 27 drug suspects during their month-long operations in September this year.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, IPPO director, said the various police units in the province confiscated a total of 630.044 grams of shabu approximately valued at P4,284,300.56 from 24 operations from September 1 to 30.
Razalan added that of those arrested, eight were tagged as high-value targets and 51 drug-related charges were filed against the suspects.
Iloilo police likewise arrested 24 most wanted persons and 74 classified as other wanted persons from 99 operations.
In a bid to curb gun-related incidents, the IPPO carried out 29 operations that resulted to the arrest of 20 individuals and seizure of 29 loose firearms. Forty unlicensed firearms were also voluntarily surrendered and while 13 others with expired registrations were secured for safekeeping.
Additionally, 57 illegal gamblers, 48 illegal fishers and 22 illegal loggers were apprehended last month.
The IPPO chief again lauded his men and highlighted the participations of the community in the successful operations.
“The accomplishments of the IPPO in September 2024 reflect the dedication and hard work of our personnel. However, these achievements would not be possible without the community’s support. Maintaining peace and order is a collective responsibility that requires ongoing vigilance and collaboration between law enforcement and the public,” Razalan said.
