ILOILO — The Iloilo Provincial Government has earned national recognition for building a healthier and safer work environment for its employees, joining five municipalities and a district jail in the province among the recipients of the 2025 Healthy Workplace National Award.
The provincial government was recognized as a National Healthy Workplace for 2025 during the HealthScape Convergence 2026 held in Iloilo City on September 29.
Iloilo Provincial Health Officer Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon received the award from the Department of Health (DOH) – Western Visayas on behalf of the provincial government.
The recognition underscores the Capitol’s efforts to promote occupational health and safety, employee wellness and a supportive work environment through programs encouraging healthy practices among government workers.

Through workplace health promotion and wellness initiatives, the provincial government has sought to strengthen not only the well-being of its workforce but also its broader efforts to build healthier communities.
The Healthy Workplace National Award recognizes institutions, local government units and health facilities that exemplify the national policy framework for healthy workplaces.
The framework focuses on key areas such as occupational safety and health, mental health, substance use prevention and overall employee well-being.
Iloilo also posted a strong showing in the national recognition, with five municipal governments — Alimodian, New Lucena, Concepcion, Tubungan and Lambunao — receiving awards alongside the Guimbal District Jail.
In Aklan, awardees were the Tangalan Rural Health Unit, Malinao Primary Care Facility, Pacita-Calizo-Cortes Health Center, Numancia Primary Care Facility, Nabas Primary Care Facility, Banga Primary Care Facility, New Washington Primary Care Facility, Batan Health Center and Birthing Facility, Madalag Primary Care Facility, Municipal Government of Lezo, and Aklan Provincial Health Office.
Antique’s awardees were the Municipality of Bugasong, Antique DOH Office and Hamtic Municipal Police Station.
The Jamindan Primary Care Facility represented Capiz among the awardees, while Healthway Qualimed Hospital Iloilo was recognized in Iloilo City.
