ILOILO — Police operatives arrested one of the province’s most wanted persons during a manhunt operation in the municipality of Badiangan on December 23.
The suspect, identified as alias “Arnie,” 46, married, a laborer and a resident of Barangay Cabayogan, Badiangan, was apprehended at around 9:40 a.m. by personnel of the Badiangan Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Police said the arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on December 4, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo, for five counts of rape by sexual assault in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. The court recommended a bail of P200,000 for each count.
The suspect is listed as the No. 6 most wanted person in Iloilo.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan commended the operatives of the Badiangan MPS for their diligence and professionalism in the successful arrest.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Badiangan MPS for proper disposition of the case./PN
