Ilonggo netters rule Guimaras badminton invitational

ILONGGO badminton players have showed their wares as they ruled the open and elementary category of the 1st Jordan Centennial Badminton Invitational Tournament on Dec. 15 to 16 at the Guimaras Provincial Capitol Gym.

Iloilo City natives Yves Sican and Kristian Ganancial nabbed gold in men’s doubles event open category, with John Paul Galanto and Clark Pangilinan placing second and Bryan Gaitan and Philip Pachano at third.

Shane Galvez and Bernice Gildore, meanwhile, bagged the first place finish in women’s doubles open category, while Andria Edang and Stefanny Kuan finishing second and Kate Camille Siason and Mia Paola Martir at third.

In the elementary category, the pair of Jincxer Suarez and Mark Ezekiel Villasis captured the men’s doubles gold, while John Anthony Proilan and Miel Jenard Gimeno finishing second and Jonzher Jornadal and Matt Laurence Celis at third.

In women’s doubles, Iloilo City natives Princess Shaneia Tan and Crystal Rodulfo clinched the gold medal, while the pairs of Allisa Nicole Gallego and Cristalyn Joy Franco and Jelian Buhatin and Jeddiene Ortiz at second and third, respectively.

A total of 80 athletes from all over the province of Guimaras have participated in the two-day competitions organized by the Guimaras Badmonton Club and supported by Municipal Government of Jordan, Guimaras./PN
