BACOLOD City – A 27-year-old man died after drowning on Monday in Barangay Tampi, San Jose town, Negros Oriental.
Police said Jerold Basay, a resident of Barangay Siapo, San Jose, was drunk when he went swimming at the sea.
His companions saw him floating around 1 p.m.
Based on the findings of municipal physician Vivien Ceniza, the victim died due to asphyxiation.
