IPPO arrests 72 fugitives

ILOILO – Seventy-two wanted persons were collared during a 15-day provincial crackdown against fugitives.

According to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), operating units tracked down and arrested the aforementioned suspects with pending warrants of arrest from August 1 to 15.

Of the total apprehensions, 21 were classified as most wanted persons involved in heinous crimes: five on the regional level, six on the provincial level, and 10 on the municipal level. The remaining 51 were tagged as other wanted persons accused of lesser offenses.

The operation follows a directive from IPPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan ordering all police chiefs to intensify their campaign against fugitives in their respective area and place them behind bars.

Razalan lauded the operating units for their swift execution of his directive.

“Every wanted person apprehended is a step toward building safer and more secure communities. We will continue to intensify our operations against wanted persons to maintain peace and order in the province,” Razalan said.

All arrested individuals have been turned over to the courts concerned for proper disposition./PN
