CAPIZ – A fire gutted a two-story residence and damaged a neighboring house in Sitio Dupaks, Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz on Wednesday afternoon, August 19.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-President Roxas identified the owners of the affected houses as Rodjie Urdas, 37, and Jessica Bacinillo, 26.
Initial investigations revealed that the blaze broke out at around 1:45 p.m. on the second floor of Urdas’ home, which was made of light materials, while the ground floor was concrete. The fire quickly spread to Bacinillo’s adjacent property.
Firefighters declared a “fire out” shortly after 2 p.m.
Authorities estimated the structural damage to Urdas’ house at P250,000, while damages to Bacinillo’s home were pegged at P150,000.
As of this writing, arson investigators from BFP-President Roxas were still conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire./PN
