
ILOILO City – Around 3,937.77 grams of shabu approximately valued at P26,776,827 were seized by policemen in Iloilo Province in 100 days of massive operations.
During the 117 anti-illegal drug operations conducted from April 19 to July 28 this year, 147 drug suspects were also arrested, 28 of whom were high-value individuals, data from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) showed.
In the campaign against wanted persons, various police units in the province caught 345 fugitives from 343 operations. Of those arrested, 67 were accused of heinous crimes.
Subsequently, police netted 35 individuals and 201 loose firearms from 36 operations. Also, 150 more firearms were surrendered.
For illegal fishing, the IPPO and the provincial and municipal Bantay Dagat task forces successfully conducted 102 anti-illegal fishing operations, leading to the apprehension of 261 illegal fishers and confiscation of P418,338 worth of fish. They also impounded 132 fishing boats.
In the campaign against illegal quarry, 108 successful enforcements of the provincial ordinance against illegal quarrying resulted to the apprehension of 116 violators.
Moreover, 70 individuals were apprehended and P41,000 worth of bet money was confiscated from 34 anti-illegal gambling operations.
