ILOILO – Security preparations are up for the upcoming Holy Week, according to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
“In place na, preparado na ang aton IPPO under the leadership of Police Colonel Ronaldo P. Palomo para sa Semana Santa,” said Police Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson.
Araño said they are prepared for the influx of devotees and visitors.
“May ari na kita security measures para maproteksyonan ang aton mga tumuluo kag parokyano nga magakadto sa simbahan, at the same time maglantaw man sa mga ginahiwat nga aktibidad pareho sang pagtaltal sa iban nga mga lugar sa probinsya sang Iloilo,” he added.
More police officers will be deployed and police assistance desks will be set up in churches, transport terminals and sea ports.
“Gina-assure naton that we will have enough personnel sa mga areas sa diin ara gid ang pagdinaguso sang mga tawo. May ara kita mobile patrol, may motorcycle-riding personnel man nga mabulig sa pag-intensify sang police visibility,” said Araño.
Force multipliers like barangay tanods will also be deployed to help maintain peace and order, the IPPO spokesperson added./PN
