
ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) confiscated more than P1.6 million worth of illegal drugs and apprehended eight drug suspects from three operations on October 8.
Police first arrested a 36-year-old mother, tagged as high-value drug suspect, and his minor son, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balanti-an, Balasan, Iloilo around 12:30 p.m.
Approximately 104 grams of suspected shabu worth around P707,200 were seized from the two who were residents of the municipality of Estancia.
The second anti-illegal drugs operation was carried out in Purok 2, Barangay Camambugan, Balasan, Iloilo at around 7:45 p.m.
Suspects identified as aliases “Jay-R,” 38, of the town’s Barangay Balanti-an, and “Jay-Jay”, 37, of Purok Saya-saya, Barangay Maya, yielded around 72.7 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated drug price of P494,360.
At around 9:42 p.m., four more drug peddlers were caught in Barangay Poblacion East, Oton, Iloilo.
Oton police identified the arrested as alias “Gino” of the town’s Barangay Poblacion East and his three companions, aliases “Alvin”, “Bejja”, and “Mark”, all residents of Oton.
Confiscated from their possession were approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P408,000.
All suspects were placed under police custody for proper disposition.
