IS LEA Salonga ready to fall in love again?
In an interview with ANC’s “Beyond The Exchange,” the Broadway star was asked whether she was open to finding love again following the end of her long marriage.
“It’s not something that I am actively building a life towards,” she pointed out.
Lea went on to share a piece of advice about building a fulfilling life without making marriage or romantic relationships the ultimate goal.
“And I think this is the piece of advice I would give to any young person and it’s a piece of advice that I saw on the internet and I loved the way this was phrase… Build your life as if you are not getting married, where you prioritize yourself, where you love yourself, where you fall in love with yourself, and create a beautiful life,” she shared.
The singer emphasized the importance of focusing on personal growth and happiness rather than actively searching for a romantic partner.
“It’s like, when you build a garden and make it beautiful, that’s when the butterflies come. Don’t chase the butterflies. Attract them to your garden. So, I like that piece of advice. So, create your life and if you meet somebody who makes your life even better, then that is when you can consider. But it is not something I am actively looking for,” she stated.
When asked whether her friends might try to set her up with someone, Lea responded: “They won’t. I know my friends way too well. For them, it’s kung saan ka masaya, dun ka dapat.”
Lea further stressed that she is already content with her life, sharing that her focus remains on her career, family, and friendships.
“I have a life that is incredibly fulfilling, professionally. As far as my personal life goes, my attention is to my son, and to my friends, and my home, and you know there’s a lot of work on my plate,” she said.
