SINCE when has racism been funny? Never!
The racist statements, not jokes, from Donald Trump’s rally at the Madison Square Garden set a standard so low that no politician could recover from it you would think, but the Trump campaign is trying to.
Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, has said, “Stop getting so offended.” But racism is offensive. Would he say the same about violence at schools?
“I’m just — I’m so over it,” Vance stated but hopefully so are the undecided middle ground who don’t support racism and realize that a positive path is the best option.
Look for the best and most positive leader for your country.

Women already wear frocks
The Catholic church under Pope Francis’ leadership has again denied women equity by not allowing them to contribute to church life fully. They can go to mass but not conduct the mass.
I am from the times when all priests were old Irish men but now the priests come from everywhere, that is if your parish is lucky enough to have a resident priest. I can’t see a reason why women cannot become priests.
It seems like the Catholic church is still stuck in the 19th or 20th century when every Catholic still went to church every Sunday. The world has moved on and they need to catch up.

A case of vanity?
I dropped my phone and the case was open and so goodbye to a few hundred dollars for a new screen but now there might be solution, even if it is rather expensive. Truly a first world problem.
Two Melbourne brothers have created a $16,000 ($US 10,569 or £8,155) iPhone case. It does look pretty! It’s designed for customers that want to “express themselves”.
Is the expression going to be “I have more money than sense”?
Why are so many people spending so much money, taking so many risks, annoying so many people in order to be “special” rather than living a normal life being the best they can be.
We do need to head back to a simpler time when your value was based on your character and contributions to society, not on your possessions and photos.

Loud but worth listening to
Australia has hit the news after one of our senators, Lidia Thorpe delivered a very loud, and some have claimed offensive, message to King Charles.
It makes a great visual for the TV news but what should be considered, rather than her performance is the content of her message, the consequences of the English arrival, or invasion as she states, and the need to recognize what has happened.
The standard, more diplomatic approaches have been tried without any success.
The message is the important part. Please listen.

An open and shut case
Some extra information has been discovered about the recent event where Donald Trump served some selected, and security checked, customers at a closed McDonald’s restaurant. On the odd times I go to one of their restaurants I am only able to buy food from an open one. Was this some special ex-presidential privilege or just a stunt? I am not sure what this symbolizes./PN
