January ops in WV net 250 wanted persons

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) recorded a major breakthrough in its intensified anti-criminality campaign with the arrest of 250 wanted persons, including all Top 10 fugitives in Western Visayas, during a month-long manhunt operations conducted from January 1 to 31.

Data from the PRO-6 showed that the 247 law enforcement operations led to the apprehension of 81 individuals classified as most wanted persons and 169 more listed as other wanted persons.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) posted the highest number of arrests with 128 wanted persons, followed by Capiz PPO and Antique PPO with 30 arrests each, and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with 25 arrests.

PRO-6 director Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan lauded the tireless efforts of all operating units and emphasized the vital role of community cooperation in the successful conduct of the operations.

“These accomplishments underscore the dedication and perseverance of our personnel in ensuring that fugitives are brought before the bar of justice. Let this serve as a clear reminder that PRO-6 will not relent in its efforts to make Western Visayas safer and more secure for everyone,” Ligan said.

All arrested persons have been duly turned over to the appropriate courts for proper legal disposition./PN
