JORDAN, Guimaras – A pharmacy in Barangay San Miguel here reopened eight days after it was locked down on Jan. 12.
A staff of Drugmart tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) so the drug store was locked down.
Mayor Ruben Corpuz lifted the lockdown on Jan. 20. He said thorough contact tracing had been conducted.
During the pharmacy’s lockdown, all individuals there underwent strict quarantine. Only the health personnel from the Municipal Health Team were allowed to contact them for constant monitoring. Food was provided by the municipal government of Jordan.
As of Wednesday, Jan. 19, Jordan had six active COVID-19 cases.
Since March last year, the town recorded 91 cases with four deaths./PN
