IS IT NOT enough that a lot of grown men ran away in sheer horror when the Manila Times published a picture of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima in a bikini in their front page last year?

Are they even aware that the same bikini picture of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima caused a lot of violent stomach upheavals among men who saw that picture?

And the same picture of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima, when viewed especially by men after lunch, triggered uncontrolled vomiting. Yes there were also stories of women who saw the very same bikini picture that succumbed to fits of hysterical laughter.

On the other hand, there were also stories that certain Catholic priests and nuns who are devotees to the “Cult of Yellow Ribbon” experienced epiphany upon gazing at the pictures of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima.

There was even a certain bishop by the name of Socrates Villegas who took his “experience of a manifestation of a divine or supernatural being” or epiphany when he, too, saw the picture of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima to the next level.

Bishop Socrates Villegas gave Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima the privilege accorded only to those who receive the sacrament of Holy Orders her very own homily in a mass celebrating the anniversary of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines or CBCP.

It came to the point that every time you open the internet  and  social media sites you see the “not so pretty and not so pleasant”  face of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima. It got worse as mainstream media i.e. ABS-CBN television and the Philippine Daily Inquirer developed a “love affair” with Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima and started almost non-stop doing stories, interviews and features with her.

These mainstream media outlets have already a fascination bordering on idolatry with that nincompoop Noynoy Aquino and his “saintly soon to be canonized” mother, and now they added Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima.

These were the main reasons why moi and most sensible and discerning folks decided to just ignore ABS-CBN television and the Philippine Daily Inquirer and look for our news sources in alternative media.

We all breathe a sigh of relief when Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima was finally arrested and jailed not for her criticisms against the administration but because an independent court found probable cause in support of the criminal charges against her for alleged violation of the law on illegal drugs.

Suddenly she became yesterday’s news, you know, the one only fit for wrapping that dried fish you bought at the market.

In time the internet and social media sites and mainstream media gradually saw less and less of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima which was conveniently replaced by the “Barefoot Lady of Naga” Leni Robredo but not today Leni, some other time.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the water, Time magazine decided to make us puke again.

Despite all the efforts of enemies – local and international – to discredit and even stop, President Rodrigo Duterte made it as No. 1 in Time magazine’s Most Influential 100 World Leaders.

And it seems that Time is not contented with their totally negative and poorly researched write-up about President Rodrigo Duterte; they decided to rub salt to the wounds by including Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima among the “Icons” list. De Lima is one of the 20 “Icons” listed in Time magazine’s list of 100 most influential people. Which means Leila de Lima is on the same level with real icons i.e. Simone Biles (the American gymnast who is a gold medalist in the 2016 Rio Olympics) and Neymar da Silva Santos Junior (the Brazilian and FC Barcelona footballer).

So what is Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima an icon of? Is she like that P800-million overpriced Iloilo Convention Center they like to refer to as “ICon”?

Is she capable of performing Olympic-standard gymnastics?  According to a witness she performed a “mean” pole dancing at the Bilibid National Penitentiary. And she has done “tricks” with the lowly “saba” with her lover / bodyguard Ronnie Dayan.

And speaking of tricks, is she capable of scoring a “hat trick” in the football pitch ala Brazilian and FC Barcelona striker Neymar?

If she can, move over Phil Younghusband, De Lima is the footballer Azkal’s Coach Thomas Dooley needs for the Philippines to finally win the Suzuki Cup and qualify for the World Cup.

As a government official, Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima is incompetent accomplishing really nothing for the country. She started running after then Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte when she was head of the Commission on Human Rights on the so-called Davao Death Squad issue but failed to prove anything.

When she became the Secretary of the Department of Justice, using all the force and might of the Noynoy Aquino administration she again failed in her obsession to get Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte on the same so-called Davao Death Squad issue.

In short, Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima is the icon of middle-aged sexual predators who likes to shag the driver/ bodyguard. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
