Kabankalan hacking victim dies

BACOLOD City – A 40-year-old man was hacked to death in Barangay Salong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, a police reports showed.

Resident Nestor Rivera sustained hack wounds on the nape and back, causing his death, police said.

The suspect was identified as Rivera’s brother-in-law Presilo Catillan, 34, also a resident of the village.

According to investigation, Rivera was drunk and creating commotion around 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Rivera then punched his wife. That was when Catillan got mad and hacked him using a bolo, police said.

Police were still locating Catillan, who fled after the hacking./PN
