ILOILO City – For alleged indiscriminate discharge of a firearm, a village councilman (barangay kagawad) was arrested in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
The 47-year-old Roderick Domile of Barangay Lanas, Barotac Nuevo faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Domile was detained at the municipal police station, a police report showed.
He was accused of firing his gun during the annual fiesta of Barangay Talisay, Barotac Nuevo on Saturday.
Police Officer 3 Roderick Caligdong caught him discharging a .38 revolver three times at 11:30 p.m., the police report stated.
Caligdong seized the revolver and recovered three empty shells.
Domile failed to show a firearm license and a permit to carry firearms outside of residence, police said./PN
