Kalibo reopens more flights to China

KALIBO, Aklan – More regional flights from mainland China will be catered at the Kalibo International Airport as leisure travel picks up to the prime beach destination of Boracay Island.

Loong Air expanded service to Kalibo from Hangzhou, Ningbo and Wenzhou in China on June 28, flying six times weekly.

Okay Airways also resumed flights in late April from Changsha Huanghua.

The airlines also launched a maiden flight on July 1 from the cities of Chengdu-Tianfu and Changsha.

Tiger Airways commenced its direct routes from Taoyuan, Taiwan to Kalibo this June.

Currently, Philippine Airlines, Air Seoul and T’ Way Air are servicing the South Korea-Aklan route with daily flights from Incheon International Airport to Kalibo International Airport.

Royal Air Philippines also launched direct flights from Taoyuan International Airport to Caticlan, Malay, Aklan on Dec. 26, 2022.

Kalibo and Caticlan airports have been consistently busy in recent months, with more than 40 daily domestic flights from Manila, Cebu and Clark./PN
